Galentine's Day is not just about the party. The fact is that domestic violence is pervasive and life shattering. 1 in 3 women have experienced violence by an intimate partner, and 1 in 7 have been injured by an intimate partner, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Every day, United Way of Clallam County raises money to support nonprofit groups that provide critical services to people fleeing domestic violence in our community. This event is dedicated not only to raising those funds, but also awareness, and as a reminder that none of us is alone when it comes to this heartbreaking issue.
